Dedication Boat
Every year, the Parade of Sail is led by the Dedication Boat.
The Classic Boat Festival Committee is proud to present RanCat, a 24-foot Tancook sloop as our 2007 Dedication Boat.
After cutting his own half model, Bill Lutwick built this Robin L 24 at his shop (Lutwick's Boat Building & Repair) in Indian Point. It is has a centreboard, and the hull is built of white pine on American oak frames. The backbone is fastened with silicone bronze. The boat is equipped with a 10 HP diesal engine for auxillary power and can be geared up for rowing and sailing using a high peak gaffe rig mainsail with overlapping jib. It has a shoal draft suitable for trailering.
